A collection of the “Remarks of Congressman Bob Wilson,” news releases, letters, bulletins & office notes: the are filed from July 1963 to December 1964. Examples are: a copy of Wilson’s “Legislation Designed To Protect the Interest of American Tuna Fishermen” (88th Cong., 1st Sess., July 16, 1963, page 12059; the “Chairman’s Bulletin” from Wilson to “Dear Colleagues” letter (7/23/63), his “Code of Ethics Extension of Remarks” to Congress & “H. Con. Res. 202” (7/18/63); a National Republican Congressional Committee “News Release” for 10/2/63 re/ “Remarks of Rep. Bob . . . Before A Luncheon of the California Federation of Republican Women at the Hotel Del Coronado” re/ extensive critique of Kennedy and the Democratic Administration; copies of “Remarks of Rep. Bob Wilson, Chairman Republican Congressional Committee Before the 12th Annual Republican Women’s Conference Sheraton-Park Hotel, Thursday, April 9, 1964” re/ similar commentary as in October and anti-communist theme; 2 copies of an “April 21, 1964 speech to Congress by Wilson on the “Requirements for a Good Military Manpower System;” “Extension of Remarks of Honorable Bob Wilson, California In the House of Representatives Wednesday, May 20, 1964” re/ “VFW DEFENDS MILITARY COMMISSARIES;” 9 page carbon copy of a speech on “June 12, 1964 Richmond, Va.;” a one page copy of “For Immediate Release: Saturday, September 26, 1964” re/ “Rep. Bob Wilson (R. of Calif.) today called on the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee ‘to order an immediate investigation’ into a State Department directive to its field officers in 20 major cities to destroy their files on Government security risks;” office note & letters (12/8 & 14/64) re/ the Illinois State Medical Society invited Wilson to speak to them and he accepted.
