Scope and Contents

A collection of letters, a news clipping, office notes, official notices, resolutions and memorandum. Examples are: stapled packet of letters, a news clipping and an office note (12/54-1/55) re/ information on “Bills Drawn By Wilson” and items related to State Government; a letter (11/26/58) from the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce to Wilson and a copy of “Roster of Public Officials,” July 15, 1958 as prepared by Government Affairs Dept., Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce; “Memorandum From: Earl G. Waters” (11/7/58) re/ list of persons participating in an unofficial group providing election results for Congressional, Senatorial, and Assembly districts and attached copies of these “General Election Results for California;” letters (Mar.-Apr. ’58) and copies of Senate Joint Resolution No. 9, 10 and 17 as sent to Congressman Wilson by J. A. Beek (CA Secretary of the Senate); a 1 page Republican State Central Committee of California, Legislative Report No. 6 (4/12/58); letter (4/3/58) from Malcolm H. Merrill, M.D. (CA Dir. of Public Health) to Wilson re/ “We have set aside for you a copy of our Department report, ‘Health in California’’’; letters (2/5 & 26/58 and attached copy of Senate Joint Resolution No. 1 as sent by J. A. Beek (Sec. of the CA Senate); letters (Mar. & Apr. ’58) re/ Arthur A. Ohnimus (Chief Clerk, Assembly California Legislature) provided Wilson with copies of Assembly Joint Resolutions No. 1, 2, 6, 7 and 9; letters (Mar. & Apr. ’58) re/ J. A. Beek (Sec. of the Senate) provided Wilson with a copy of “Senate Joint Resolution No. 8;” a single page indicate: “State Government Name ----- Mr. J. A. Bleek . . . and Mr. Arthur A. Ohnimus . . . wrote in about House Resolution No. 19 and Senate Resolution No. 20 – Both of the resolutions deal with urging the Congress and the Secretary of Agriculture to provide the necessary land at or near the Davis Campus at the University of California upon which a conservation laboratory is to be established and maintained. Date of both letters - - - February 13, 1958;” letters (3/26 & 4/9/55) re/ a request from constituent Miss Eunice E. Nelson for “Registers Governing the State Board of Accountancy from Title 16 of the California Administrative Code;” letters (3/29, 30 & 4/9) re/ Wilson receiving Senate Joint Resolutions No. 14 & 21 – flood control near Chico landing at Red Bluff and the Auburn Dam on the American River; letters (4 & 18/58) re/ Wilson receiving “Senate Joint Resolution No. 18, relative to revival of the gold mining industry in California;” letters (4/7 & 14/58) re/ Wilson receiving “a copy of Senate Joint Resolution No. 19, relative to the repeal of the transportation excise tax;” letters (4, 8 & 10/58) re/ Wilson receiving Senate Joint Resolution No. 16 and No. 22 – an extension of Public Law 78 & the University of California Band.
