Scope and Contents

A small number of letters and resolutions: Examples are: a letter (2/16) from Paul R. Bonderson (Executive Officer, CA State Water Pollution Control Board) to Wilson and attached copy of Resolution No. 60-4 re/ “At its regular meeting held on February 3, 1960 . . . Control Board adopted Resolution No. 64-4 recommending that the United States Public Health Service initiate a water pollution control study of the Colorado River and its tributaries;” a letter (3/12) from National City constituent Jimmie Cheneweth (Valley View Sanitarium) and Wilson’s reply (3/18) re/ Mr. Cheneweth was campaigning for the City Council and asked for Wilson’s support. Wilson indicated he could not enter into local politics in support of nonpartisan candidates; letters & a resolution (Apr.-May ’60) re/ CA State Director of the Dept. of Water Resources Harvey O. Banks sent Wilson a “copy of Assembly Joint Resolution No. 7 wherein the State Legislature has requested the Congress to provide for establishment of the research center at Davis [Campus]” – “on principles of irrigation;” a letter (7/15) from El Cajon constituent Mrs. Nellie Heath and Wilson’s reply (8/9) re/ “advising me of your experience on the Election Board. I certainly agree with you and with the voters that cross-filing serves a useful purpose . . . .”
