Scope and Contents
A collection of letters and California Senate and Assembly Joint Resolutions from April to February; these are in stapled packets and include such topics as: aid to dependent children and related programs, air pollution control, closing of Benicia Arsenal, establishment of Point Reyes National Seashore, federal aid to schools, beach erosion and flood damage in Ventura County, importation of mink, East Side Canal in San Joaquin Valley, acquisition of federal surplus property by municipal and county governments, World War I veterans pensions, minimum wage law for agricultural workers, predatory animals, unregulated importation of foreign-made musical recordings, federally insured home loans, national forests, imports of lumber and lumber products, compensating Philippine Scouts for their services rendered in World War II, pensions for veterans of World War I, pears decline and the issuance of a commemorative postage stamp for Phoebe Apperson Hearst. A letter from constituent Charles H. Fuss and Wilson’s reply (Feb.) re/ as a 76 year old with illnesses, debts and inadequate income from Social Security , Mr. Fuss requested Wilson’s help in obtaining a State old age pension. Wilson indicated that he had no authority in matters dealing with State Government but Fuss should contact his State Assemblyman or his State Senator.
