Scope and Contents

A collection of letters, government forms, individual tax forms, documents, telegrams, news releases & other items; these are filed from November back to February. Examples are: letters (11/19 & 11/9/65) re/ IRS Dist. Dir. R. A. Riddle & Wilson discuss “the application for exemption from Federal income tax of Lifeline Ranch, Inc. San Diego;” stapled packet of letters & copy of “Report of Individual Income Tax Audit Changes” 1962-1963 re/ Wilson inquiry for Paul Justice and details covered; letters (Apr.-May ’65) re/ problems of S.Sergeant Charles C. Kirk, Jr. MSMC, IRS and Wilson assistance; letters (Apr.-May) re/ income tax return issue for La Mesan Dale E. Hoegh and Wilson’s assistance; large stapled packet of letters, copies of government documents – H.R. re/ issue of “survivor benefits” & other concerns such as automobiles; letters & news clipping re/ concern of Arthur J. Jessop and Sons with recent President’s comments on repeal of excise taxes; letters (Feb. & Mar,) re/ proposed $100 tax on Americans travelling abroad; Stapled packet of letters, White House press release – more details on proposed $100 tax on travel; letter & telegram (Mar .) re/ Excise Tax Repeal Bill H.R. 7; stapled copies of letters related to Vice Admiral Frederick W. Pennoyer, Jr., of Coronado – especially his concerns over deductability for income tax purposes of union dues versus political contributions and his appreciation of Wilson’s outstanding conduct as the 36th District representative. Letters (May-Sept.’64) re/ problems with IRS and Wilson’s assistance; letter (12/30/64) re/ Commission of Internal Revenue To Members of Congress – sending complimentary copies of the new 1965 editions of tax payer guides & letters & news clipping (Feb.-Mar. 65) re/ COMBO & PONCHO (San Diego & Seattle art groups) & application for federal tax exemption as educational, charitable and literary non profit organizations.
