Scope and Contents

A collection of letters, pamphlets, news clippings, office notes, HAUC reprint, & other topics; these are filed in random fashion for 1964. Examples are: Stapled packet containing letters (Sept. – Dec.) & multipage copy of items from constituent Wallace R. Johnson (Grossmont , CA.) to Wilson supporting Johnson’s Constitutional Free Enterprise Republic; a letter (2/17/64) from Harold C. Urey and attached copies of “Morton Sobel is INNOCENT” & Committee To Secure Justice for Morton Sobell re/ challenging the restrictive activities of the government; a packet of letters (Jan.-Feb.’64) re/ Supreme Court decision on June 6, 1961 & Wilson’s criticism of current Democrat policies and support for a Republican President and a Republican Congress; letters (June ‘64 re/ Washington School of Anti-Communism June 15- 19 conducted by Fred C. Schwarz & their pamphlets for “Scholarship Program For Students, Teachers and Clergymen;” letters (Apr.-June ’64) re/ reference to Joshua Van Wolfram in Kenya; letters (Mar. ’64) & news clipping “Dr. Salk Confirms Confirms Selection of Aide,” [Dr. Jacob Bronowaki] Union,3-4-64]; letters (June & July ’64) re/ a constituent’s query about the Council for a Livable World; a copy of the Committee On Un-American Affairs, Annual Report for the Year 1963; letters (July-Aug.’64) re/ reference to J. Edgar Hoover, loyalty oaths, disarmament & Namon Care Call It Treason; letters (12/11/64) from Marvin Liebman (Secretary, The Committee of One Million) to Wilson re/ the Committee’s Declaration in opposition to any concessions to Red China which Wilson and 344 of your colleagues endorsed in the 88th Congress; letter & telegram (Dec.’64) re/ 135,000 members of the American Legion in California vote to support the continuation of the House Un-American Committee.
