Scope and Contents
A collection of letters, post cards & telegrams; the majority of these represent letters mailed in March & April 1961. Most appear to be part of a special drive to support the committee and oppose those seeking to eliminate it. Examples are: letters (Mar. & Apr.’61) from constituents and Wilson’s reply re/ support for the committee and Wilson’s reply was that he was proud to stand up on the roll call vote of confidence in this committee; post cards & letters (March ’61) re/ organized efforts from constituents to support the committee and Wilson’s response as to the roll call; telegram & letter (Feb. ’61) – Mr. & Mrs. Frank Mollenhauer support the committee and says he does too; 4 La Mesa constituents Misses Lucille Schuster, Carol Bauer, Mary O’Neill and Gail Goodbody support HAUC and Wilson responds that the committee now has the funds to continue; the remainder of the folder contains similar commentaries in support of HUAC and Wilson’s support.
