Examples are: Two copies of The National Trust for Historical Preservation in the United States, Preservation News (Vol. 19, No. 4, Ap. 1979) with a focus on “Preservation Ups and Downs in San Diego;” 1 photocopy of Suzanne Choney, “County’s Lobbyist Wins Praise,” The San Diego Union (4/22/79) re/ Roger Honberger, S.D. Lobbyist for 10 years; 1 copy of an “Advisory” (4/11/79) from the CA Office of Emergency Services re/ SBA declares several “counties a disaster area because freezing weather conditions...between December 1, 1978, and January 31, 1979;” 1 photocopy of a Telephone Directory (n.d.) (5 pp.) for S.D. County Government & Planning Agencies; stapled packet containing corresp. (Jan.-Ap. 1979) from Congressman Wilson & J. Edward Bungay (“We Were There: San Diego’s Living History,” San Diego State Univ. Foundation) & attached copy (8 pp.) of interviews conducted by Mr. Bungay with Art Leach re/ a research project “relative to living San Diego pioneers, 1880-1945;” a letter from constituents Mr. & Mrs. Wallace G. Payler & Wilson’s reply (3/79) re/ “the plight of the Vermont Street Bridge” -- it was not a federal problem, but Wilson would “communicate with my friends on the City Council;” 1 copy of San Diego Business Action (Vol. 6, No. 2, Feb. 1979) with a focus on “Chamber Seeks Pandas for Zoo” & visit of Walter Cronkite to the Chamber’s annual meeting; a large packet containing office note from “Karen - Boss” & “Memo To Boss From Marge,” photocopy of Bill Hagen, “New Old Globe’s design promises better staging, more comfort,” Evening Tribune (19/79) & folder from the Globe Centre for the Performing Arts containing copies of News releases for January 1979 & information featuring photos, architectual renderings, historical backgrounds & a Challenge Grant Application Form A (Nat. Endowment for the Arts) re/ the arson fire on March 8, 1978 -- It was estimated that “the Globe will cost five million dollars to rebuild with needed improvements.... We are asking the NEA for a one million Challenge Grant;” stapled packet containing corresp. (Jan.-Feb. 1979) from Roger F. Honberger (Washington Representative, S.D. County) & attached “Annual Report for 1978” (1/19/78) (10 pp.) & Appendices A - E (11 pp.) -- federal agency approved grants for 1978 for the S.D. County area totalled $119,221; 1 letter (1/30/79) from Roger F. Honberger & attached copy of the Final Budget in Brief, County of San Diego 1978-79 (50 pp.) - Total = $492,914,654, “a 5% decrease from the prior year” which reflects “post-Proposition 13 and State budget provisions;” 1 letter (1/11/79) from Michael Shontz, Jr. (Dir., Office of Econ. Dev., S.D. County) to EDD Committee Members re/ status report of provisonal designation to EDD; 1 letter (12/30/78) from Richard Wagstaff (a 12 year old Boy Scout) & Wilson’s reply (1/3/79) re/ Richard’s concern about retaining land adjacent to the Robb Field City Recreational Area rather than see it used for housing; 1 large, stapled packet containing corresp. (Oct. 1978-Jan. 1979) from Congressman Wilson, George Story (Dir., Citizens Asst. & Info., S.D. City), D.R. Roberts (Supt., Park Div., S.D. City), Robert P. Kopotic (Dir., Risk Management , S.D. City), Bob White (Ex. Asst. to Mayor Wilson), constituent Delbert Johnson, S.D. Mayor Pete Wilson & Bill Harrington (Wash. Rep., S.D.City) re/ Mr. Johnson’s concern that a tree in front of his house was a danger to his residence and should be removed by the city; 1 copy of Comprehensive Planning Organization (CPO), Regional Capital Improvements Program 1979-1988 (Jan. 1979), “Draft for Discussion,” 113 pp.
