Examples are: Telegram from Reed Lawton, President Industrial Assn. of the San Fernando Valley (2/26/64) re/ support for a California location for NASA’s Electronic Research Center; corresp. from Walter Zable (Cubic Corp.), Normand W. Des Champs, Richard L. Callaghan (NASA) & Congressman Wilson (Feb.-Mar. 1964) re/ Electronic Research Center, “unnecessary Government enterprises,” “Competition for this so-called `political plum’” & “a new NASA Research Center is the most effective organizational situation for increasing Space electronic research capability throughout the nation;” copy of letter (2/13/64) from Congressman Wilson to Richard G. Capen, Jr. (Copley Newspapers) & attached newsclipping (Washington Post, 2/1/64) re/ “$50 million electronic research center to be located in the greater Boston area” & “It is a real thorn in the side that CNS, the Chamber and the City don’t jump on Van Deerlin for sucking them into his `news trap’ as he has done in not only this instance, but also in the case of the `proposed’ Coast and Geodetic Survey facility for San Diego;” corresp. of Congressman Wilson, Harry L.
