VHS: The Old Globe : A Theatre Reborn, 1984
Scope and Contents
"The Old Globe Theatre : A Theatre Reborn," the Emmy Award-winning tribute to the trials and triumphs of the Old Globe's fifty-year history, 1934 through 1984. This half-hour documentary traces the theatre's route to national renown as one of the nation's best regional theatres, a route briefly interrupted by an arsonist's torch in 1978. The program features footage from the theatre's triumphal reopening in 1982 when local community leaders, philanthropists and stage and screen celebrities gathered to celebrate the rebirth of the Old Globe."
