Examples are: One letter from Max Cleland (Administrator, Veterans Admin.) re/ a list of “the VA expenditures for the Forty-first Congressional District of the State of California during FY 1979” – the total amount was $35,396,155, with an estimated 79,410 veterans in the district; 3 copies of San Diego Economic Bulletin (Vol. 27, Nos. 2, 5 & 10, Feb, May & Oct. 1979); 1 copy of County of San Diego’s OMB “Quarterly Report To Management on Status of Key Economic Indicators” (5/1/79); 2 page photocopy of news article, “West Is Favored_‘Military Tax’ Called Unfair to Many Cities” (n.d., n.s.) re/ a critical analysis of “The Pentagon is spear-heading a massive relocation of wealth at a time when many [older] cities can least afford it” and two page photocopy of Kip Cooper, “County, Military Help Each Other,” The San Diego Union (1/8/79) re/ estimated $2.5 billion worth of federal military expenditures for San Diego for 1978; 1 copy of Federal Civilian Work Force Statistics Annual Report of Employment by Geographic Area (12/31/78) (191 pp.); 1 letter (3/26/79) from Dick Warden (Asst. Sec. for Legislation, HEW) & attached HEW Report, Financial Assistance by Geographic Area (Fiscal Year 1978, Oct. 1, 1977-Sept. 30, 1978) (149 pp.).
