Jim Jones has a telephone conversation with Rosalynn Carter during the 1976 campaign, during which Jones pledges his support, as well as that of the "many thousands of members" of Peoples Temple. Jones expresses his appreciation for Carter¹s Christianity and liberality, as well as the Temple¹s compassion for the Carter¹s son who had received negative press for raising money for a gay bar.
