Summary Note

Assorted letters and memoranda created as a result of Black's work as President of the State Normal School of San Diego, California.  Communication between President Black and the school's faculty, the Board of Trustees, the Normal School's local bank, tradesmen, construction companies, other normal schools in California, as well as some students is included.  Topics discussed include graduation recommendations, overdrafting problems, bids for various construction projects performed on the Normal School's new building, requests for payment, budgets, salaries paid to faculty and staff, course offerings, and other topics related to school administration.
