Colección Chicana / Chicano Collection Pamphlet File
Scope and Contents
The Colección Chicana Pamphlet File was part of the larger Colección Chicana, located on the first floor of Love Library. The File includes clippings, brochures, pamphlets, reports and newsletters that document topics of interest for the local Chicana/o community as well as its activities. The collection is divided into two series: Subject Files and Newsletters and Newspapers. The Subject Files are arranged alphabetically by subject title and include information about events, services, people, and issues specific to the Chicana/o community. The Newsletters and Newspapers series is arranged alphabetically by publication title and includes local and regional Chicana/o periodicals.

The copyright interests in some or all of these materials have not been transferred to San Diego State University. Copyright resides with the creator(s) of materials contained in the collection or their heirs. The nature of archival collections is such that multiple creators are often applicable and copyright status may be difficult or even impossible to determine. Historical Note
The Colección Chicana Pamphlet File was established as part of the larger Colección Chicana / Chicano Collection, which was transferred from the Centro de Estudios Chicanos to Love Library in 1978. The Collection as a whole was developed to facilitate research in Chicano studies on the SDSU campus and has continued to grow since its transfer. The Pamphlet File contains reports, newsletters, flyers, brochures and pamphlets that document issues, concerns and events within the Chicana/o community.

Custodial History
First transferred to the Library from the Centro de Estudios Chicanos in 1978. The collection was added to over the years, and in December 2015 it was moved from the Colecion Chicana / Chicano Collection room (Love Library, first floor) to Special Collections and University Archives.
