The Reired Officers Association, San Diego Chapter Records contains the organization's by-laws, charter, correspondence, certificates, meeting minutes, financial records, membership rosters, and bulletins. The collection consit of four series: Organizational Files, Directories, Meeting Minutes and Correspondence, and Newsletters. Each series is arranged in chronological order.

Historical Note
The Retired Officers Association (ROA), formed in 1929, is the largest military officer association in the nation dedicated to maintaining a strong national defense and preserving members' and their families' entitlements and benefits. The ROA's 385 local chapters are essentially autonomous and self-supporting units. Activities of the San Diego Chapter include periodic luncheons and dinners with featured speakers, recognition programs for local and Junior ROTC units, programs of interest to the local community, and assistance to members, their families, and survivors in times of need. Special interest task forces address issues of national and local interest to ROA members.
