Biographical Note

Irving Outcalt joined the faculty of San Diego State Normal School in 1912 as a professor of English, and at the time of his retirement in June 1939, was serving as Vice-President of the college. The college administration, faculty, and senior class of 1937 honored Mr. Outcalt by asking him to deliver the commencement address that year.
