Scope and Contents

A large collection of letters, notes, telegrams, news release & other items. Examples are: letters and notes (Jan.-Apr. 1959) from constituent Ed Stephen (National Travelers Life Co.), Wilson, Captain Carlton R. Adams (Deputy Asst. to the Secretary, Office of the Secretary of Defense) & Floyd S. Bryant (Asst. Secretary of Defense) re/ responses to the inquiry from Mr. Stephen concerning the military housing project in the Yokohama City Park; telegrams (5/59) from Sam Berger, George Holstein & Bob Wilson & Housing and Home Finance Agency NEWS re/ Housing Bill S.57 which Wilson could not support in its present form; telegrams (5/59) from J.R. Shattuck (Builder) & Bob Wilson re/ support for S57 with "amendments to eliminate public housing and reduce urban renewal;" telegrams (5/59) from Courtland Baughman (Coronado Bd. of Realtors) & Wilson re/ "Will support Herlong substitute:" letters (Apr.-June 1959) from constituent Mrs. Irene Weddle, Wilson, Cmd. Corradi (Deputy Bureau Chief, Bureau of Yards and Docks) re/ response to Mrs Weddle's inquiry as to the condition of temporary Navy housing in the Long Beach area – "maintenance funds have been insufficient to maintain this housing within standards desired by the Navy;" a telegram (6/22/59) from the Home Builders Assn to Wilson re/ their problems with the "Minimum Property Standards" the FHA proposes to make mandatory on July 1st; a letter (6/8/59) from constituent Dr. Milton H.
