Letters Sept.-Nov. 1962 re/ Wilson and his staff assist friend Tom Pownall’s mother and her friends in obtaining “space on the President Jackson sail from San Francisco around January 22, on an around the world cruise;” Letters 1963: stapled copy (Jan.-Feb.) re/ invite to Wilson to go with UDT group to duty at St. Thomas, Virgin Islands & possibility of cruise abroad the USS Constellation for Mr. Edward Dawson of Jamaica Estates, New York; letters (6/6 & 6/11) re/ appreciation of Mr. P. N. Hyndman (San Diego Auto Lease) for being able to “spend four days on the U.S.S. Midway on a cruise from San Diego to San Francisco as a civilian guest of the Navy;” copy of telegram (8/16) from Wilson to Commanding Officer USS Kitty Hawk re/ “our good friend Jim Copley” spending time with you aboard your ship; stapled packet containing letters & memo (June-Sept.) re/ prominent San Diegans being invited to participate in Navy cruises.
