A collection of letters, a public notice, a list of interested parties, a statement and a pamphlet: Examples are: a letter (8/30/55) from Colonel William F. Cassidy (Division Engineer, South Pacific Division, Corps of Engineers) to Wilson re/ “Enclosed for your advance information copy of a public notice that will be released . . . together with a copy of the mailing list of persons to whom it will be furnished” regarding “flood control on Las Chollas Creek;” a letter (12/29/59) from C. J. Haggerty (Sec.-Trea., California Labor Federation, AFL-CIO) to Wilson and an attached copy of the “Statement on Water Issues before The House of Representatives” re/ their concern “by what appears to be a three-pronged attack in Sacramento and Washington to thwart the aims of federal water policy and allow future irrigation projects in California to fall under the control of a few corporate absentee owners who hold huge tracks of land in the San Joaquin Valley;” a letter (12/31/59) from C. J. Haggerty (Sec.-Trea., California Labor Federation, AFL-CIO) to Wilson and attached copy of “LABOR AND CIVIL RIGHTS” re/ an 11 page “Statement of Policy and Resolutions . . . adopted by the Second Convention of the California Labor Federation, AFL-CIO, held in San Diego, August 10-14, 1959; letters (10/28 & 12/11/59) from Colonel C. M. Clifford & Brig. General R. G. MacDonnell (Corps of Engineers, South Pacific Division) to Wilson re/ “Beach Erosion control of Orange County, from the entrance to Newport Bay to the mouth of the San Mateo Creek” and “bank protection and channel maintenance on the Sacramento River.”
