Scope and Contents

A collection of letters, list of surveys and photographs: these are filed from May back to March. Examples are: copies of letters (5/25) from “the California Delegation to the House of Representatives” to Congressmen Hale Boggs, Carl Albert & John W. McCormack in support of “H.R. 484, a bill to authorize the Secretary of the Interior to construct, operate, and maintain the Auburn-Folsom South Unit, American River division, Central Valley project, California, under the Federal Reclamation laws;” a letter (5/20) from Lt. Col. A. R. Marshall (Acting Dist. Engineer, Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles) to Wilson re/ “a reconnaissance study of the problem of floods from Rose Creek, San Diego” and changes in alinement, etc. to mitigate this; a letter (4/22) from Warren A. Barney (Dir., County Dept. of Special District Services) & Wilson’s reply (4/30) re/ flood control conference and specifics on San Dieguito River, S.D. Bay-Sweetwater River Report and San Luis Rey River survey; letters (3/1 & 3/10) & three b&w photographs re/ San Diego constituent Edmund Kirby’s concerns about “the recent devastating flood of the Main Eel River” and his support for constructing a dam to control flooding near Sequoia.
