Scope and Contents Dick Adair grew up in San Bernardino, California. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in January 1943, and received multiple decorations and citations for his service. Soon after the war he attended San Diego State where he earned his teaching credential. During his time at SDSU, he played both football and basketball.
