A collection of letters, telegrams & other items: these are filed from January to November but also have letters from1960. Examples are: letters (Jan.-Feb. ’61) re/ El Cajon constituent Mrs. Ione C. Hubner - “concerning husband’s tax liability;” letters (Jan.-Feb. ’61) re/ Wilson and the IRS respond to tax issues from Walter F. Busch(El Cajon), Mr. & Mrs. Frank Foster (San Diego) & Miss Marion E. Kimball (Julian); copy of a letter (3/25/61) from W. H. Shattuck, Jr. re/ “I am getting a little bit tired of the bellyaching coming out of the Treasury Department about the failure of taxpayers to report dividends and interest;” letters (Mar. & Apr. ’61) re/ “audit of the 1959 income tax return of J.C. and M.E. O’Donnell;” letters & telegram (Mar.-Apr. ’61) re/ the Cantor Brothers of San Diego, the Douglas Tire Co. & the San Diego Tire Dealers Assn. discuss the President’s Highway program and state their opposition to an increase in excise tax on tread rubber; letters & an editorial from the Los Angeles Time (3/31/61, 5/31/61 & 6/5/61) re/ Norman Chandler’s support for the 23rd Amendment & in Washington’s being too owned by the tax free federal government.
