A small collection of letters, a magazine excerpt & office notes. Examples are: a letter (6/7/57) from constituent Mrs. Clyde L. Reed & Congressman Wilson's reply (6/13/57) re/ inquiry "as to whether accounts in Savings and Loan Association are as safe from loss as are savings in banks;" "Reference Sheet" re/ "In a letter dated Dec. 9 to C. Arnholt Smith the Congressman discussed both political affairs and need for banks to stay on a level with savings and loan associations in regard to savings accounts;" a letter (11/181958) from Hoyt E. Ray (Office of the City Attorney, San Diego), Wilson's reply (12/11/58) & attached copy of Mr. Ray's "Time To By-Pass Road To Ruin," National Republic (Nov. 1958) re/ criticism of the Federal Reserve system and suggestions for Republican campaigns in the future to use this message; Wilson office notes of telephone conversation (1/12/59) with Tom Sefton (San Diego Trust and Savings Bank) and letters (Oct. 1958- Jan.1959 ) from International Civil Aviation Organization, the First National Bank, the Royal Bank of Canada & the San Diego Trust & Savings Bank, Wilson & Robert L. Jack (Director, Collection Div., Treasury Dept.) re/ the complicated story of establishing temporary banking in San Diego for the coming convention of the International Civil Aviation Organization; a letter (12/1/58) from Sebastian Avellino (Debt Counselors) & Wilson's reply (1/9/59) re/ plans to extend the bankruptcy law ceiling to adjust to changes since 1950.
